Ancient Egypt – “Gift of the Nile”

The Nile River was extremely important for the civilization in Egypt to develop.  Your task is to find at least 10 reasons the Nile was important to these people and create a “gift box” which explains what the Nile provided and how it was used.  Your teacher will provide you with the “gift box”.

1) Decorate the outside of the box with any material you choose to make it look like a gift.

            The flap must include the first/last names and period number. (2 points)

            Include the Title: “Gifts of the Nile River” on the box. (1 point)

2) Upon opening the box, the reader should learn the answer to this question:  Why was the Nile

    River important to the people of Ancient Egypt?

            Plan ahead so that your space is wisely used. (2 points)

            Use your creativity to make the information interesting.  (4 points)

            A minimum of 10 reasons must be shown. (10 points)

            Neatness and readability are important. (4 points)

            You do not need complete sentences.

            All reasons must be illustrated (drawings, pictures, etc.).  (10 points)

            Make sure all spelling is accurate.  (4 points)
